Chad Says....

Why do you insist on taking my picture?  I hate it...

Uh, yep...sure looks like you don't like having you picture taken from here.  Too bad you are not the boss of me!!  I am the boss of me, and as the boss of me... I am sending you and the boss of you this little note:

Dear Sir,
It is the opinion of this office and its staff, that if you are not fond of having your picture taken; then by all means stay out of my way.  But until you and your office take measures to not be in the line of fire, you are fair game.  Thank you for your attention on this matter,
The Staff of Nikki

LOL!!  I love you hunny...and to prove it, here are a few more pictures of you!!

Yeah, tell you horse how mean you wife is to you...she is sympathetic to your suffrage.  She too hates to have her picture taken and will get out of the way as fast as she can!  ( :

The Last Of The Trailer Pictures....

I promise!!  ( :  The Land Lord got Nick the neighbor to come over with a piece of equipment and take the log off of his horse trailer.  That was after he had his friend Rick ( the nicest guy on the planet...and a horse logger) cut the thing up a bit.  I failed to get pictures of the tree after Rick had cut it from the butt/stump, but that's how it goes some days.
He also got the front end of the trailer picked up and place on some blocks.  He hasn't said what he is going to do with it.  But another neighbor came up today and asked if we knew what the Land Lord was going to do with the trailer.  I told him I doubted the Land Lord knew what he was going to do, but I would pass on that Glenn was interested in the tires/wheels/axles and the jack stand if the Land Lord were piecing the thing out.  He said maybe he'd trade some hay for it.  I am sure the Land Lord will be all over that like stink on dodo!  If he enjoys anything, its the barter system.  Crazy old fart....
So without further adieu...the LAST of the trailer pictures!!

From the front of the trailer looking back...before Rick did his handy work!

School's Cool!!

I talked to Mario on Monday and he is ready to take my Fiona Pony on May first!!  He will also be taking Sally and Mindy's mare Chix.

So tomorrow Fiona, Horse Girl, and I will be heading to the vets office.  Fiona will get her traveling papers and West Nile shot.  Horse Girl will get her Legends shot and a quick peak at her teeth....and a float if she needs it, and of course her West Nile.

I will of course pick up a West Nile for Tari and give it to her myself... 'cause I can!  ( :

I will also talk to Dr. Peters about getting Tari's stuff in a line for her breeding to DTF!  She just came out of heat last week.  And we would like to get her covered next month for an April baby next year!!  Oh, man am I excited!!  ( :

I am not however all that excited to see the bugs that are in this picture with my precious Fiona!  ( :  Seems a wee bit early for them....doesn't it?

This Is Why....

Old farm implements and other "decorative" crap doesn't belong in your pasture...  I have said this to him before, but it falls on deaf ears...  (I won't miss this when I don't live here anymore!)  And its been blogged about over and over again, but I am sharing anyways!  ( :

I initially saw her like this while I was driving home...this is taken from the house, so the opposite direction.  Anywhooo when I first saw this I thought, what's she doing?  She is the Alpha Mare, so I knew nothing drove her into this mess...she went there on her own.  So I figured she was OK.

After 20 minutes, I decided that maybe I should break out the camera and take some pictures.  And of course see if I can get her to move out of there.

As you can tell, the Land Lord had been here...and rode...and neglected to brush her after riding...oh, well.  So here is a front shot of predicament.  Note she is not in distress.  I have found her "caught" in things before, and its always the same response.  Calm and waiting for me to get to her and fix it.  Which is a good thing!  ( :

If she had put her foot more to our left, her right...then we could have had problems.  I had these covered with hose, to keep the sharp edges on that round flat wheel cover from cutting anyone...but someone has removed them...probably the little criminals!  ( :  I will re-cut and glue them back on....AGAIN!

Waiting for me to just fix it!

This is where her foot was resting...you can see she had picked it up and put it back down a few times....

A few hairs left behind from the back of her leg....there was not a raw spot on her leg.  Just lots of hair due to spring shedding I suppose!

And she's off!!  Fine and dandy....this time!!  ( :

He's BAAAAAck!!

TAAAAADAAAAAAA!!!

I noticed him while I was getting the horses, mule, and donkeys situated for the farrier.  I snapped a few pictures from the barn yard and then decided to get a little bit closer.

As I got closer I realized that all but one of the geese had taken flight at his arrival.  And that it seemed as though the Eagle was watching that goose....Hmmmm....about that time Abbi and Kage noticed that the one goose was still in the pond too.  So they decided to take care of that and move the honking fowl off the water....

He really didn't go far.  I thought to myself is this bird some sort of mental fowl?  It went to the fence line you can see in this picture and then just sat there...squacking.  The Eagle just watched the dogs and the goose then turned his gaze back to the pond...then the little light in my head went off.  Its slow to light some days, but it burns pretty bright when its finally ignited!!  LOL!

The goose that the dogs chased has a wife and kids in the nest!

Well, the kids aren't here just yet, but when the arrive...well I am sure they will hit the pond and become some sort of Eagle delicacy.  I don't know where the rest of the geese are nesting...but he may have himself some sort of baby snatching route he is working on!  Which leads me to wonder about the two duck couples that usually have ducklings out here...  I do like the ducks...just not the geese and turkeys!

He finally got tired of me bugging him and left for the day...sure is fun to see him!!  ( :
